What Clients Are Saying...
Elissa F., OR
Romantasy Author
"Rachel is the editor most writers need but can't find. I was just about ready to give up until I had a coaching session with her. She rekindled my love for my story. She finds what works. She helps me take ideas and form them to be cohesive and fluid. Instead of telling me what needs to happen, Rachel suggests ways to make my vision work. She gives you the tools and feedback without the negativity and pushes your story to be better.
Rachel offers custom services, works within your budget, and makes the process of editing your work doable at your own pace. You will not be disappointed!"
Cami S., UK
Romantasy Author
"Rachel is a true hero! I’m so grateful for her incredibly insightful suggestions and her kind words.
You have no idea how much it means to hear encouragement and have someone point out some of the stuff I miraculously got right instead of all that is awfully wrong (as much as that has merits too). It really pushes me to want to deliver! Two weeks ago I didn’t believe I’d be able to write a single paragraph. I worked hard on making sense of the plot so that the future scenes hit at the right times. I’m genuinely touched that she used her precious time to read and analyze so much and that she read over my changes too!
Her kind words genuinely went a long way. Rachel’s name will be the first thing on my lips regarding editors."
Doris H.,
Self-Help Author
"So happy I hired Rachel to edit my book! Her communication at all times was prompt, professional, direct, and to the point.
I've dealt with several editors before, and, while they were good experiences, Rachel went above and beyond. She provided a very comprehensive editorial report with more detail and insight than I've ever had before. She was great at pointing out what I had done well and what I could improve, always with clear reasons. I had no idea I could produce something this good, and it's all thanks to Rachel's patient and professional guidance. She helped me become a better writer without taking away from my style and personality, and the book I have now is of far better quality."
Request a Sample Edit
It's important to find an editor who's the right fit for you. One way to do this is to request a sample edit. When you send me a sample of your work in progress, I'll provide a free edit (up to 1,000 words) so you can get a sense of my editing style (with no obligation). If we're a good fit, we can discuss your project needs and goals so you know how to best move forward.
About Rachel
I'm driven by a passion for storytelling and a desire to help you succeed. As an editor, I've been professionally trained in the craft of storytelling, content development, and wordsmithing. I love working with first-time authors as well as churches, pastors, writing teams, and nonprofits to help them achieve their creative dreams. I also enjoy connecting with other editors in the Northwest Editors Guild and Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA).
As a writer, I know what it's like to be on the other side of editing. I've been writing and blogging for over a decade, reaching thousands of readers with faith-based articles that offer hope when life hurts. My writing has been published by Zondervan, featured on Christian platforms like (in)Courage, and recognized by DaySpring's Voice of Inspiration Award.
Before becoming a freelance editor, I was a ministry assistant for multiple large churches, and I partnered with leaders of operations, youth, young adults, women, community outreach, and pastoral care. My greatest joy is helping others grow and succeed while providing hope in the messy spaces of life.
When I'm not writing or editing, you'll find me hiking, baking, binge-watching TV shows, reading romantasy, or finding any excuse for a coffee date.
